The DaVinci Wing

Appleton Creative commissioned us to create a real-life replica of Leonardo DaVinci's famous Wing Drawing. Digitizing his exact sketch and deciphering his notes, we recreated the wing by routing it digitally first, then hand-carving it, while assembling it with hardware of the era. The Nitesol Wing is currently on display at the CNL Building’s DaVinci Center. Bringing this 400-year-old sketch to life allowed us to become part of the genius vision of the Renaissance man. Reminding us that his imagination realized then what today is the airplane. A Flying Machine!

PROJECT CHALLENGE

10 vehicles, 10 days, 10 million impressions.

D&A Building Services purchased 7 Chevy HHRs, a Ford E-350, a Dodge Caravan and a 20 feet box truck. This new fleet of vehicles was in need of graphics to market the brand and services offered. The challenge was that the client had an idea of what they wanted to see on the vehicles, but didn’t know what to do next. Nitesol conceptualized the graphics, designed and set them up to fit every type of vehicle. We then produced, and installed the graphics. All in ten days. The time frame is not that impressive if you just think about the vehicles, but having to conceptualize, design, and go through the proofing process with the client before commencing the work… with an extremely satisfied client.
